Sandy Davis is a principal of ChangeWise, Inc., a small consulting firm he co-founded in 1995. He is a graduate (with honors) of the Phillips Exeter Academy, and holds a B.A. in biology (cum laude in general studies) from Harvard University. He has completed graduate work in clinical psychology at Clark University, and is certified by the International Coach Federation as a Professional Certified Coach (PCC).

Sandy’s multifaceted career spans education, the arts, and business in roughly equal measure. Over a period of 30 years, he made his living variously as an airplane pilot, a cabinetmaker, a photographer, a teacher, a musician, a software engineer, a technical instructor, a director and producer of training videos, a manager, and a business executive. He spent 14 years working in working successfully inside high-tech corporations, including nine years in director-level positions with both national and global P&L responsibilities.

For the past 12 years, Sandy has specialized in helping individuals become more effective and more fulfilled in their leadership roles, in part by systematically helping them enhance their personal resilience. He routinely enables his clients to move from feeling overwhelmed and beleaguered to feeling revitalized and re-engaged. They discover how to increase their capacity to thrive, find more pleasure in their work, make bigger and more satisfying contributions, and have more fun while doing so. Simultaneously, they learn how to be more effective in their role(s) and to model personal resilience for the teams, business units, and organizations that they lead.

In addition to his ongoing coaching work, Sandy also works as a management consultant and trainer specializing in communication skills, team building, and the development of organizational resilience.

Outside of his professional work, Sandy’s longstanding interests include playing live music for New England contra dances and rowing year-round (spring, summer, and fall in his racing shell, and on a rowing machine in the winter).

He has two grown children, a daughter who graduated from college in 2004, and a son who graduated in 2006. He recently relocated from the Boston area to Bristol, Maine, just outside of Damariscotta.
